Who is responsible
This site is run by Daniel Akselrod, working as akselrod.media, an individual photographer working between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest. He is the data controller for anything you send through this site.
The way to reach him about anything on this page, including a request to see, correct or delete your data, is dan.akselrod@gmail.com. Enquiries are answered from that address.
He operates in California and Washington, United States, and this site is governed by the laws of those states. If you contact him from the EU, the UK, or elsewhere, the rights described below are honoured regardless of where you are.
The short version
This site is a portfolio. It sets no advertising cookies, runs no trackers, and loads nothing from third-party servers. The fonts and every photograph are served from this domain. The only personal information collected is what you type into the contact form.
What is stored on your device
- Your cookie choice. If you answer the banner, that answer is saved in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again. Nothing else is stored with it.
- Nothing else. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no fingerprinting, no session tracking.
You can clear that choice at any time:
Analytics
No analytics provider is running on this site today. If one is added later it will be a privacy-friendly provider, it will only load after you have explicitly allowed it in the banner, and this page will be updated to name it and say what it records.
The contact form
- What it collects: your name, your email address, and anything you write in the message, date and shoot-type fields.
- Why: solely to reply to your enquiry. This is on the basis of your consent, which you give with the checkbox on the form.
- Where it goes: to Daniel Akselrod's email inbox. If no form service is configured, the form simply opens your own mail app and you send the message yourself, in which case nothing passes through this site at all.
- How long: enquiry emails are kept as long as needed to answer you and for any resulting work, then deleted on request.
- Never: sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or added to a marketing list without you asking for it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email dan.akselrod@gmail.com and it will be handled. There is no charge and no form to fill in.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. Nothing on this site is sold or shared for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
The photographs
Every photograph on this site was made by Daniel Akselrod and remains his copyright. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used commercially without written permission. If you are in one of them and would like it taken down, email and it will come down.
Hosting
The site is a set of static files. The host may keep standard server access logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. Those logs are the host's, are not used by this site to build any profile of you, and are not combined with anything you submit here.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
